Critical Caddis

• Caddis are critical indicator of a rivers health, so what better name to bequeath to this new to Big Y pattern.
• Much like our Caddis Emerger, this fly is tied on a curved hook with a peacock thorax, slight wings coming out the top and a soft hackle wrap in the front.
• However, the coloration and tying of this fly a quite a bit different. How different? Well ask the fish.
• The wings and hackling is grizzly and tied on pretty sparsely. The body is brown and thinly wrapped.
• This pattern fishes well in lower and clearer water, especially is its smaller sizes.
• The opposite is also true in its bigger sizes as long as you can get it near enough to the fish for them to notice its silhouette.
